A Thrift Store Find!

Today I was shopping at one of my favorite thrift stores, Precious Life, and I found the cutest little key rack! It inspired me to post a blog about all the fun little things that I have in my room that I've collected through the years.

Here it is! My wonderful little key rack/shelf. It is right next to my door and so handy to hang my keys so now I hopefully do not lose them so much!

This is just a close up of some of my favorite things that now have a home. I love reed diffusers because they smell sooo good, I want to travel to Paris someday (my sister got the eifel tower for me), and old fashion alarm clocks are so cute (from target).

I once complained to my boyfriend that he had never gotten me flowers, so low and behold on my birthday he shows up with this huge bouquet of flowers that matched what I was wearing!

I don't remember where I found this. But I remember it was WAY too much and I bought it anyways. I think it is just the cutest little hook ever! I hang my long necklaces and headbands on it.

I know it's not that exciting, but I love this picture corner.

And in my pictuer corner I have a barameter! It is one of my favorite thirft store finds of all time! I got if for like $5.00 or something!

Over in another corner I have 3 of the silliest/ugliest pictures that me and Jane found in a Goodwill in San Diego. We decided we wanted something ridiculous to remind us of the trip. I think we succedded. In the foreground is a lampshad that I've been working on for forever!!

Here is a better picture of the lamp shade. It has taken me over 8 months to finish this lamp shade! I am so slow and I tend to get distracted. I found the base of the lamp at a garage sale and just love the shape of it!

I know it's silly, but I love my rock collection.

I found this gold picture frame at a thrift store and I love it. It's gawdy, but I think it's fun.

I also love my painting stuff. The paint pallet is broken down the middle and I keep my brushes in a recycled candle jar. Also, the picture in the background is a picture of a heart that I found spray-painted on the road in Prague.

This is another one of my favorite places in my room. First of all my "Love is the Movement" Picture, a painting I made, Ibriks from Lebanon, and dried roses from my friend Tammy's wedding.

Last but not least, I love these little glass coasters. They are colorful and fun!

The Shib.'s Guide to Excellent Thrift Stores

My family has always been known as the deal-finding-thrift-store-savvy-Shibs, and today I am imparting to you some of the secrets that we hold very close to our hearts, our thrift stores.

First of all, my favorite thrift store that I have ever gone to is Precious Life Thrift Store. It is located at 3622 Florista St, Los Alamitos, CA. All the proceeds go to the mother's home that is located right next door. If you are willing to dig around a little bit, you can find some great steals!

From there, I always go to Grateful Hearts Thrift Store. It is located at
3982 Cerritos Ave, Los Alamitos, CA. It is quite a bit more pricey, but it is a lot more consignment & new stuff! This thrift store is run by Cottonwood Church(right down the street), and so I'm pretty sure the money goes to a "good cause".

My last stop is always Sav-Mor Thrift Store. Of course I am unable to find the address for it right now, but I have the address of a market in the same shopping center. It's
12565 Carson St
Hawaiian Gardens, CA. This one is great because the prices are unbeatable! And, they are always having sales/specials.

Check out these thrift stores if you are in the Los Alamitos area, and let me know what you think!

Online Deals!

Whenever I have some free time, I always find myself browsing Etsy & my favorite shop today is this shop called Ninu. She sells this super cute bags called The Claudia Bag.

It is super cute in this peanut brown color & it is very versatile. It can be used as either a big bag, or a messenger bag (with a single strap). I am totally in love with this bag, and it only costs $67.00. If you are thinking the same thing that I am, that there is no way you can afford $67.00 on a purse, then check out Shop Ruche. For about half the price, you can get a equally cute large bamboo wooden tote bag.
This bag is only $32.00! And, pared with this linen pocket dress for only $44.99 you have an instant outfit for only a grand total of $79.00! But, we're not done quite yet...lets throw in a necklace and earrings for only $12.99!

The next time you have some free time, check out www.shopruche.com. Their stuff reminds me of Anthropologie, but at over half the price! It's even cheaper than some of the cute stuff that you'll find on Etsy!
I am always in awe of my friends, Louisa & Becca's house. I was over there the other day and they had these adorable Tissue Paper Pom-Poms hanging from the walls. It is such a colorful & cheap way to decorate for a party! I got the directions for them at Martha.

I am also in love with this little boutique in Seal Beach called, The Swiss Dot. If you're ever in the area, you should check it out.

Ten Months Later...

I am sorry that I have completely forgotten about this blog! But, on a good note, I am getting back into crafting because I finally have the time again (since I am not in school for the next two months). This is my latest craft that I found from Design*Sponge, my new favorite website!

I am sorry that this first picture is upside down, but you get the general gist. I found household items, spray painted them black (below). And glued them all onto a piece of paper, and framed it. It was a very cheap, and easy gift to make for my friend.

The finished project!
